Maggie Gyllenhaal’s next film is a romantic comedy called Hysteria when she helps to invent the first vibrator. The movie is set in Victorian times where Gyllenhaal is the daughter of a doctor who specialises in curing hysterical women by delivering orgasms as a common remedy for “hysteria”.
Jonathan Pryce will play Maggie Gyllenhaal’s hysteria-curing doctor father alongside Hugh Dancy and Rupert Everett playing medics plus Sheridan Smith who is currently appearing in Legally Blonde.
The film is due for release next year (no date available yet) but Sheridan has just tweeted that she has been for costume fittings today so filming must be imminent.
