Anyone Can Whistle to be revived for Sondheim’s 80th Birthday

Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurent’s Anyone Can Whistle is to be presented at the Jermyn Street Theatre to mark Sondheim's 80th birthday on 22nd March.

The 1964 musical satirised the American culture scene including conformity, psychology, race relations, greed, religion and politics. The original Broadway production had a brief run at the Majestic Theatre of 12 previews and 9 performances, and starred Angela Lansbury, Lee Remick and Harry Guardino.

The Jermyn Street show will run from 10th March to 17th April and will star Issy van Randwyck from Fascinating Aida, David Ricardo-Pearce and Rosalie Craig.  With Richard Colvin, Lloyd Gorman, Deborah Hewitt, Sophie Juge, Elizabeth Reid, Rhiannon Sommers, Nick Trumble, and introducing Jessica Adair and Martha Tipper.

It will be directed by Tom Littler who previously worked on Sondheim’s Saturday Night, also at Jermyn Street Theatre.
